Meet Marge & Mabel
Allow us to introduce the faces behind the business and chief tasters! No recipe goes ahead without their approval!
We have had both Marge & Mabel since they were 12 weeks old. The girls have never been apart, had a cross word or fallen out, they are the best of friends and adore each other.
Marge
AKA Large Marge
Marge is a lady that loves to eat hence the nickname ‘Large Marge’. As one of the official taste testers for the business, she has a long list of her favourite homemade treats! If you asked Marge to recommend some treats she would definitely say, Steak & Kidney Puddings, followed by Kidney Doughnuts. She is also partial to a bag of Yorkshire Mixture!
Marge is very laid back and relaxed, she enjoys a stroll rather than a quick walk and will do anything to avoid running! When it comes to exercising she loves swimming, especially in Linacre Reservoir in the Peak District (one of her favourite places).
The best holiday is on the Isle of Man, staying right next to the beach; she just loves that early morning dip in the sea, then a good old roll in the sand, rolling is an essential part of Marge’s life, every morning Marge has a roll on the grass, in the mud, on the pavement it doesn’t matter where she just likes rolling.
Employment. Full-time Chief Taster at Marge & Mabel’s never had a day off work ever.
Hobbies - Eating, sleeping and relaxing on the sofa watching TV with a bag of Yorkshire Mixture. Marge is a couch potato.
Mabel
AKA Unstable Mabel
Mabel is such a happy, fun-time sort of girl with a quirky personality, and she always likes to torment you and make you laugh.
Mabel loves walking, running playing chasing a ball a very active girl, totally opposite to her sister Marge.
She loves her food and Mabel’s favourite is Cheese and Bacon Muffins, Mackerel Sticks and Kidney Crisps!
Hobbies - Mabel’s favourite pastime is playing hide and seek. I hide treats round the garden and she loves running around trying to find them, the excitement when she knows it’s playtime. Mabel loves the water, especially the sea riding the waves. Mabel loves walking around Curbar Edge and running through the heather.
